About

Jamie Trsek

Meet Jamie: your go-to horticulturist and teacher with over 25 years of experience in the green world. From retail and wholesale nurseries to revitalizing degraded landscapes, her love of connecting with people and plants knows no bounds.

Her passion for plant propagation took root during her decade as the Production Manager for Rhodoglen Nursery, followed by seven years running her own wholesale nursery specializing in bare root trees. (Yes, you read that right—bare roots! No clothes required in the plant world. Kidding - she almost always wears her PPE in the garden.)

As a natural and entertaining communicator, Jamie now juggles contract propagation services with teaching. For the past six years, she’s been inspiring the next generation of horticulturists in the Certification II in Horticulture, proving that learning about plants can be just as fun as tending to them.

When she’s not hosting the Garden Hoes Australia Podcast, you can find Jamie at her property in the Dandenong Ranges, planting as many flowers as she can. If a Dahlia stands still long enough, you can bet she’ll be there dividing and propagating it—because why let a good plant go to waste?

Erin Gray

Meet Erin: after a decade in local government and corporate projects, she finally decided to embrace her true passion—gardening! She pursued horticulture at the University of Melbourne’s Burnley campus and found herself in a Melbourne-based landscape architecture firm for nearly nine years, before trading city life for a small farm in regional Victoria.

Now, Erin blends her “day job” with her flower farm, where she grows a range of perennial and annual flowers, supplying local florists with blooms that are anything but ordinary. As a passionate advocate for regenerative gardening, she champions minimal tilling and a “soil first” approach. She considers herself a non-denominational gardener: flowers, veggies, fruit and even Christmas trees have a place on her farm.

When she’s not podcasting with Jamie on the Garden Hoes Australia, you’ll find Erin testing the limits of “frost hardy” plants in her Macedon Ranges garden or chasing kangaroos out of her flower beds.
